‘Mr Stink’ by David Walliams: review

★★★★

An eye-opening book for children and teens on family, friendships, and acceptance. Twelve-year-old Chloe, neglected at home and at school, wants a friend- someone she can talk to. Ravaged by his past, Mr Stink is a wanderer, vagabond, a lost soul. The book describes the beginning of the friendship of these two characters and how it evolves with Chloe’s family getting involved when Chloe decides to hide Mr Stink in her shed.

I was surprised by the politics and government background included in the novel; I thought it was a really nice touch to the overall atmosphere. Regarding the writing style itself, I felt that the writing in this book was somewhat better than the author’s other books.

To conclude, this book is another great book by David Walliams!
